Night Skies [VIDEO]
Armed with only two Canon EOS 7D HDSLR cameras, this breathtaking collection of long exposure night shots were taken over Death Valley, Yosemite, and Plymouth, Indiana while the German-based team of T-RECS (Timelapse Recordings) were visiting the ole' U.S.A.

About Damn Time
If you've watched LeBron James over the past 9 seasons, then it's hard not to be happy for the man. He's worked so hard, has been burdened with so much responsibility from the time before he could even drive a car, and has withstood all levels of criticism from "haters" in every city he travels to.
With that said, I think this is a great ad that Nike had waiting for when LBJ finally earned his first championship. Oh, and not to mention an NBA Finals MVP Award to go along with his 3 NBA regular season MVP awards. Not bad for a 20-something year old.

When Life Gives You... Lemonade: Detroit
I love Detroit. No secret there. I've been so extremely close to moving to Detroit over the past few years, I'm surprised I haven't made the move yet. Grand Rapids apparently has too many draws that are still keeping me here (and very happy). No matter where I reside, anytime I can support Detroit and learn more about it, I do.
This documentary, titled, "Lemonade: Detroit" highlights the positive whereas most media and video document the negative, the broken, the abandoned, and the criminal. “Lemonade: Detroit” is about the disarming resilience of a city that is searching for an identity beyond a single industry, as told through the intensely personal stories of people who are actively reinventing the Motor City.
There have been far too many films about what’s wrong in Detroit. Far too many journalistic opinions claiming to offer hope that in reality glorify ruin. “Lemonade: Detroit” makes hope, optimism, and positivity as intriguing to watch as a train wreck. Every character in “Lemonade: Detroit” is beating heavy odds placed on them by a world that expects failure. Documenting the struggle isn’t the point. Overcoming it is. These are the stories that must be told.

Complex Magazine's Top-50
Complex magazine is always putting together great "Top" lists. They've previously compiled list of the:
Recently, they just released the Top-50 Sneaker Stores of All-Time. It was fairly impressive to see two Michigan stores crack their list. Burn Rubber started it off at #50 while Premier was just ahead of them at #48.
Of course, I would like to think All City Kicks (ACK) and Revive should have been likely candidates. However, I think the fact that Burn Rubber has been part of some rather significant collaborations with New Balance and Premier's recent release of the Nike "Petoskey Stone" SB Dunks tipped the scales on their behalf. Either way, great to see Michigan well represented.

While the Paint Dries
Some days it gets pretty quiet around the office. Some days I simply want to procrastinate. Today, happens to be one of those days. Thank God Almighty for Mighty.

Would you like to procrastinate for a few minutes and are curious how I ended up with a mouse as an office pet? Luckily for you, there's a story behind it (and a video):

Ja-Ja-Ja-JOE BUYS!! Welcome Home Show
Yup, the LA-living, long-hair wearing, smile-so-big-it'll-make-you-smile guy is coming back to his hometown to perform this summer. Joe Buys will be live in concert on July 7th at the Armory.
Ohhh, the memories from the last time he performed there -- that's where I first started working on Tayshaun Prince's shoes. That was my first NBA player project. I had a little table set-up with some other shoes I had painted. I was working on Tayshaun's pair live while Joe was performing. I think I was a Junior at GVSU at the time. It's hard to believe that was 5+ years ago already!
I'm really looking forward to have this guy back home. I've been itching to make it out to Los Angeles this year to visit him and his better half, but it just hasn't been in the cards for me. So I'll take this alternative solution any day. Mark it down on your calendars, buy your tickets now, and always: DREAM IMPOSSIBLE.
