Eminem Reveals Album Cover Art

Eminem just revealed two possible covers for his upcoming album, "Recovery" that is set to come out on June 22nd. Both covers tell a different story. The first one requires a bit of a double look to capture all the small details within the glass box that is outside of the General Motors headquarters in downtown Detroit. The second is rather simple, yet accomplishes its mission. I am anticipating that this will be Em's best album ever...and that anticipation keeps building on itself over and over again. Remember: June 22nd. Oh yeah, and don't forget that he is also headlining a concert on September 2nd in Comerica Park with JAY-Z. Nutzo!

Big Sean Talks NBA

Big Sean is obviously a Detroiter and therefore a Pistons fan - yessir! Well, they're not in the playoffs. DUR. But he still talks a little NBA talk with DJ Reflex out in LA. Watch.

This is another one of those pieces that I just randomly come across while doing my blog reviews. I couldn't even remember the rabbit trail I took to find this video, but I think it stemmed from somewhere on www.mashKULTURE.com...?

Anyways, this video features Niels 'Shoe' Meulman, an internationally known artist, graphic designer, and art director from Amsterdam. This guy revolutionized the art of writing with Calligraffiti, an art form that fuses calligraphy and graffiti. Definitely an interesting mini-documentary. Watch, learn, and respect:

Piston Strength Coach Banned Nike Hyperizes

I ran across this post on my daily review of different industry blogs. This particular post is from NiceKicks.com and being about my dude Tayshaun Prince, it is a little bit obvious as to why I wanted to repost it. Pretty interesting...

"In early March, towards the end of the regular season, Detroit Pistons strength and conditioning coach publicly criticized the Nike Hyperize for the team’s recent increase of ankle injuries. After that, he then banned the shoe from Pistons members. We don’t plan on seeing any Nike Hyperize Detroit Pistons PEs anytime soon thanks to his comments; however, we have spotted one of Tayshaun Prince’s Nike Basketball PEs.

The Nike Shox Vision was one of the only Nike Shox basketball sneakers worn this year. We spotted this sneaker on the feet of Tayshaun Prince and Orlando Magic small forward Vince Carter. As for Prince’s PEs, they seem to coincide perfectly with the Detroit Pistons ‘Home’ jerseys. White leather makes up the majority of the base, while red hints are spotted mainly on the heel and Shox unit. Minimal Nike branding is seen on the heel along with Prince’s jersey number, while a red-outlined, blue swoosh completes the upper. View additional photos below." -NiceKicks.com

LeBron MVP #1

With LeBron winning his second straight MVP award this past week, I thought it was fitting to take a look back at his first one 365 days ago. Here is the blog post, video, and pictures from his MVP press conference in Akron, Ohio, from May 4, 2009:

To celebrate LeBron James' first NBA MVP award, T.Way freehand painted these original works of art for King James and presented them to him at his MVP award ceremony at LeBron's alma-mater: St. Vincent St. Mary (Akron, Ohio).

"First of all, what a crazy day. I was in Grand Rapids this morning and woke up at a decent time and went straight down to the office to begin work for the day. As I turned on SportsCenter, the breaking news came in that the NBA would be announcing the MVP award TODAY in Akron, Ohio. I was like, "Oh shoot!" I was planning on delivering the shoes tomorrow, but not today! Real quickly I contacted Uncle Wes to confirm all of this and find out the time of the press conference. Realizing it was at 4PM this afternoon in Akron, I flipped. I grabbed everything around me, threw it in the car and basically took off from Grand Rapids on the 5+ hour drive to Akron. I did not have time for coffee, breakfast, my scheduled hair cut, or even a shower. Not a good way to start the day!"

"I drove faster than I ever have and avoided cops entirely to make it to St. Vincent St. Mary's High School in Akron minutes before 4PM. The press conference was an amazing experience in itself as I was located right next to Ben Wallace and the entire Cavs team the whole time. After the conference Wes introduced me to LeBron and I presented the shoes to him - he loved 'em with a smile. Problem was my camera broke down right before that, so unfortunately no picture of me with LeBron and the sneakers! LeBron then set the shoes over by his MVP trophy and shook my hand with a big smile."

The Cupcake Cannon

This video is pretty nutzo. It is a cupcake cannon. Yes, that's right...a cupcake cannon! There was not much info available about it or its use except that it was a collaboration effort with Johnny Cupcakes and Kamp Grizzly. I guess just add this to the list of the super creative and crazy ideas that Sir Johnny Cupcakes has come up with.

I Learned Today...

I learned today that you are supposed to floss BEFORE you brush. I always thought you brush THEN floss.
