History of Detroit, Part 1: Historical Introduction

Being born and raised within the greater-metro area of Detroit, I never really knew a deep history of the city. I knew the very basics but missed out on learning the real stories and seeing the images of it in its glory days as well as in its darkest. A friend forwarded me this series of videos about its rich history. This is the first of an 8-part series of Detroit's history. I think we, in Michigan, need to know how it used to be so that we can work together to bring it back. My generation only knew it as what Detroit is to us today - an abandoned mess full of crime and poverty. It wasn't always like that though...
