Road Trip to Hillsdale

This weekend Adrienne, my sister Aubrey, and I made the road trip to Hillsdale to visit my sister Sumer and her husband Tim for the weekend and for the Grand Valley State vs. Hillsdale men and women's basketball games on Saturday. Tim is the assistant coach for the Hillsdale women's team and they were able to hold off the GVSU squad to improve to a school-best 19-2 record and a top-10 national ranking. The men's game was one of the most exciting I've seen. Grand Valley came back within the last 3 minutes and took the lead by 2 with less than :24 seconds to go. Hillsdale scrambled for a desperation shot, chased down a rebound, and threw up a reverse 180-layup as the buzzer sounded to send the contest into OT. Hillsdale's men also pulled out a victory after Grand Valley missed a buzzer-beating, could have tied the game, three-pointer to complete the upset for the Hillsdale Chargers.

After the game we went back to Sumer and Tim's newly built home and watched some other great college games and that night's Pistons game while enjoying everyone's company and great food. Sunday morning was welcomed with one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long, long time. Then we went to their local church and hung about watching Sunday's NBA action before road trippin' it back to Grand Rapids.
