Shock in WNBA Finals!

My gals did it for the third straight year, making into the WNBA Finals. My schedule allowed me to make it for the Game 2 victory, and just last night they put the series away by eliminating the New York Liberty. They now move into the Finals to face a familar opponent to Detroit...San Antonio. It's not Duncan and Parker this time, but they still have that similar rivalry. Game 1 starts on Wednesday, and the remainder of the schedule you can find by clicking HERE. Hopefully I'll be able to make it back for Game 3 on Sunday? Stay posted & rep the ladies of Detroit, seriously, ha.

A Weekend in the Life Of...

Friday was the Young Joc concert up at Central Michigan University, from there I hardly made it back in time for a family-friend's wedding in Brighton that lasted all day/night Saturday, then Sunday I wasn't even able to make it to church because we had a surprise party in the morning that I had to leave early from to make it to the Detroit Shock Eastern Conference Finals, Game 2 (hosted at Eastern Michigan University because of scheduling conflicts with a concert at the Palace). I made it back to Grand Rapids late, late Sunday and had a full-night ahead of me: 2 papers, an assignment, and 1/2 a book to read for classes, AND then on top of that I've gotta finish up sneakers for the Hip-Hop for Habitat charity auction as well as create designs for a special collaboration project that I'm working on with Cash.Is.King Clothing. Whoever said there's too much to do in too little of time is completely right. "Just a weekend in the life of...!"

Keep hustling. God bless & be easy!

I Want This...

I came across this during my rounds through all the sneaker blogs and found this one on http://www.individualsole.com/. I thought it was freakin sweet, and will be a consideration when I'm ready for a new phone this spring. Here's what IndividualSole.com had to report about it:

"Google and T-Mobile finally unleashed pictures of the retail version of the T-Mobile G1, the first phone to run on the Internet giant’s Android operating system. The device, built by HTC of Taiwan, takes the shape of the Apple iPhone but offers a slide out keyboard for easier navigation and texting. It will go on sale, Oct. 22 for $179 with a two-year contract and will be offered with a monthly $25 unlimited data plan with some messaging or $35 for unlimited data and messaging. "

Videos: Inside the Detroit Pistons/Shock

T.Way takes you inside the Palace of Auburn Hills, home of the storied Detroit Pistons & Detroit Shock franchises, on a behind-the-court journey back through the player tunnels and into the executive board room. There he sits down with highly credentialed & influential members (Alicia Jeffreys - Director of Business Operations/Director of Brand Management, & Aaron Smith - Director of Year-Round-Hoops) from the organization to give you a better idea of not only how a professional team is run, but also how you can potentially become apart of one. If you have any interest in professional sports make sure to check out these videos. Click here: http://www.twaycustoms.net/spotlights_pistons.htm

Farewell to Yankee Stadium

Last night marked the final game played at the more-than-historic Yankee Stadium. Obviously I don't need to share the number of legends that played there or the classic games that were hosted within those chalk lines since 1923, but it still needs to be marked as a very meaningful night in baseball and American history.

Personally I'll have to say my all-time top 2 are Yogi Berra and The Captain, Derek Jeter. Yogi is just my dude, his quotes are nothing short of legit, "If there's a fork in the road...Take it." And Derek Jeter can best be summed up in two words: Brand Jordan. There's a reason MJ pick DJ to rep his jumpman logo - he's a champ, MVP, the heart of his organization, and an all around good dude.

Sports marketers will miss Yankee Stadium just as much as baseball fans. You can sell out that place for a Little League game simply because of its pure history of the monument. Yogi was right when he said that Yankee stadium will never be gone or missed because it is in you.

Jordan 1 Retro Velcros

Wierd as this sounds, I've wanted Jordan to bring out some velcros...I might have even put it in the document I left with them when I met with them in August? But don't quote me on that, ha. But yeah, apparently the Jordan 1 retros will now be straight velcro. I think they'd look much better with two or three really wide straps that would cover the full front part, but being the first ones I'm sure they'll tweak some things. I found this out when making my daily rounds on all the sneaker blogs, particularly http://www.nicekicks.com/ (whose pictures were provided by Millennium - http://www.millenniumshoes.blogspot.com/)

Pistons Tour

It's getting to that time when the NBA training camps are drawing near & the preseason will soon begin...and to prepare for that the Pistons have been on a promotional tour around Michigan. This year will be an interesting one for my team, but I've got all the faith in my guys, as well as JoeD.

Look for Stuckey to continue to impress, as last year he kept getting better & better once he was able to recover from the early season injury. I'm looking forward to the preseason game in Grand Rapids this year too. They've got San Antonio scheduled for mid-October, and it'll be nice to get back in the mix. Keep the look.

New Sneakers - The E-LOG on ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition

New sneakers have been added to the T.WayCustoms sneaker gallery on our site (http://www.twaycustoms.net/). Simply click the URL, then "Sneakers" and the E-LOG shoe will be featured in "GalleryThree".

E-LOGS are an extremly unique log siding product for exterior & interior use of homes. They give the exact look & feel of huge, full logs straight from the traditional log homes but do it in a much more environmentally-friendly manner. I'm by no means an expert in describing their patented product, so please for more and better information visit them at: http://www.e-logsiding.com/.

They took the sneakers down to Toledo, OH, while they were installing their logs for ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition house project & were reported to be a success crowd favorite of everyone there, including the design team and host Ty Pennington. And yes, they even had Ty sign 'em, haha.

September 11, 2001-2008

I doubt I had to remind you it was September 11th, which is already the 7th anniversary in the craziest day in US history. It's still hard to believe what happened & how that one horrific event completely changed our lives. I don't know about you, but pretty much everyday something reminds me of that day, especially since it always seems I look at the clock at 9:11. Unfortunately those numbers have become much more than just an emergency phone number. My words of wisdom for the day: Always remember & appreciate your life every hour of every day. All the things we take fore granted should be treasured (ignore the cliche'ness of that statement & just accept it!).

God bless & be easy!

Greatest Hoop Shoe EVER!

Aight, so NIKE gave me these Hyperdunks to rock on-court in August (I'm not talking about the super-exclusive Marty McFlys, those are forever staying on the shelf!). For the past month or so, since being back at GVSU for school, I've been spending whatever free time I have up at the Rec doin some hoop. Besides the numerous comments & questions people always have, these shoes straight up perform. I believe they're only 13 ounces due to the ground-breaking FlyWire technology NIKE has been developing for years...and if had to pay for 'em, they would be worth that $125 - even on such a tight college budget. They move extremly well, and stop on a dime while still allowing for an easy take off...I've just gotta say, cliche or not, but it feels like they've taken my game up a level, ha. Definately a must buy for any player!

Hip-Hop for Habitat, ABC's Extreme Home Makeover, 2008 Men's Bball Olympian

Aight so there's a few new sneaker projects happening right now, so it's basically my duty to keep you posted as much as I'm allowed. By now you should know about the Hip-Hop for Humanity sneaker that currently is in the works. If not, then here's the summary: it's for a charity mixtape combined with tees, denims, and of course a T.WayCustoms pair that will be autographed by the mixtape artists & producers (that I'm told include Chris Brown, Lil' Wayne, The Game, etc.) and auctioned off to the highest bidder with proceeds benefitting Hip Hop for Habitat.

The next deals with ABC's hit show Extreme Home Makeover and the Pine River Inc. company, producer of the e-log (e-logsiding.com). This will make for a very unique project, and who knows the possibilities...you just might be seeing the sneakers get some camera time on national TV on a Sunday night...?

The third project is still in the very early works, so all I can tell ya is that he's an Olympic Gold Medalist from Beijing - and he plays hoops - and I haven't done work with him before...You can either fill in the rest with a guess or just stay posted for more! Thanks for the love & support, and please stay up! God bless & be easy!
